Leaves on a pennantia that has been grown at the Tamaki site of Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research. One of the worlds rarest trees has had a stay of execution after the late Ross Beever worked out a way to encourage the fruiting of a pennantia which only has one tree left in the wild on Manawatāwhi in the Three Kings Islands. The fruit bore seeds whcih have been grown into trees and the taonga have been returned to Ngāti Kuri by Manaaki Whenua. Image for Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research by Brad White.
