Kaumatua Wayne XXXXX speaks to the manuhuri (visitors) during the powhiri at Te Hiku o te Ika, Ngataki. One of the worlds rarest trees has had a stay of execution after the late Ross Beever worked out a way to encourage the fruiting of a pennantia which only has one tree left in the wild on Manawatāwhi in the Three Kings Islands.
