Flowering pennantia

A flowering pennantia baylisiana onsite at Tāmaki site of Manaaki Whenua Landcare Research. The Three Kings kaikomako, is a species of plant in the Pennantiaceae family. The late Dr Ross Beever discovered a way for it to produce viable seeds. It is endemic to the Three Kings Islands, Manawa Tāwhi, New Zealand, where only one plant is known to exist. These plants are its prodigy after it was successfully propagated. Image by Bradley White
